Jody Allen Crowe has brought the dream of a summer outdoor theater to the Brainerd Lakes area. He spent 20 years in summer performance in Mississippi Melody Showboat with the AppleChords, and two years in summer theater at IronWorld, in Music Man and as Tevya in Fiddler on the Roof. He experienced audiences of up to 1500 people in venues that had a much smaller population and tourist base. His belief in what can happen is becoming reality with this project. Crowe was instrumental in the writing of the Blandin Community Partnership grant that brought over $400,000 to the area and was instrumental in the development of the Crossing Arts Alliance. He is a charter member of the Brainerd Restoration Board, which is responsible for the development of the downtown Brainerd Master Plan. In 1996, Crowe teamed up with Peter Johnson to begin the popular quartet, the Harmony Engineers. This quartet is a "must see" component of the yearly Rhythm of the Rails show. The founder of Rhythm of the Rails, Jody Allen Crowe is currently in school administration. Rhythm of the Rails has been a labor of love over the years. |
